Halloween is once again upon us! Happy Halloween to my fellow bloggers out there! May all the gouls give you a good fright tonight!
While Brutal Planet may already be closed for the season… some of you may be looking to go somewhere fun tonight for a little scare! A few of the other local area houses that I can recommend to you tonight are:
Scream Park: A frightfully good romp through a genre of horror classic films! Nice and long with some great acting!
Field of Corpses: While not one of the oldest houses around town, certainly one of the best! If you have seen “House of a 1000s Corpses” you will enjoy this highly entertaining haunted attraction!
Frightmare: One of Denver’s oldest haunted attraction, this outdoor haunt takes you through some of the most realistic depictions of horror around!
I have been to the first two this year, and the third never disappoints, and still hope to make it there before they close this weekend! If you make it to any of them, let me know what you thought!
I don’t know about you, but I really hate it when people these days wear their pants down around their knees! Well, yesterday, I got complete vindication and a great laugh!
I was at a red light, and this kid, who obviously needed to catch a bus, hopped out of his parents SUX, Oops SUV, and started to try and run to the bus stop. However the kid had his pants falling down past his butt, and as he was awkwardly trying to run while pulling up his pants, he finally ended up tripping over the pant leg.
He ended up falling flat on his face and missing the bus! I can just imagine the conversation him and his mom had, when she did the “I told you so dance!”
Trying to figure out if that 800 number is one you should answer? I discovered this site tonight when I was trying to figure out who has been calling me every night for the last week now. They can get really annoying, especially since I am on both the state and national do not call list!
Sorry for the short notice, I tried getting this up yesterday, but ran out of time. If anyone is interested in going to Elitch’s this weekend, CW2.com is offering a coupon that is good for 2 admissions for $19.98! That’s $9.99 a person… compared to the regular admission of $45.99, I’d say that is a bargain! Coupons are good if you get there before 6pm.
Also if you missed it in my update on the last post, Mix 100 and The ARC Thrift Stores are ganging up for Boo in the Gardens. Stop by a local ARC and pickup a coupon good for 1 admission for $8 on Oct. 27th & 28th if you get there before 3pm!
We open tomorrow night… hope that some of you around here can make it out!
Who cares about the Broncos or the Rockies… We’re talking about getting the wits scared out of you!
Erasure’s new EP Storm Chaser, was released in the US yesterday. It contains a variety of remixes from the Light at the End of the World CD released earlier this year. This album has had some of the best remixes to come Erasure’s way in a long time. In the past too many of their remixes, the song has gotten lost, and it really is no longer an Erasure song.
With this EP, we are given remixes of some songs that at first weren’t necessarily stand outs on the album, but the songs shine with the remix treatment. While Sunday Girl was my favorite track on the album at first, Storm in a Tea Cup has really become my stand out must listen on the album. The Koishi & Hush Club Mix really makes this little gem stand out even more! Keeping the original feel of the song, this hyped up techno mix will feel at home in any dance club.
For those of you that didn’t necessarily warm up to the album, I highly suggest that you give this remix EP a chance. If nothing else, you get a wonderfully funky duet with Andy Bell and Cyndi Lauper, who could ask for anything more! I think once you give Storm Chaser a listen you will agree that these are quite possibly the best remixes ever for Erasure! It even includes a fan submitted remix of When a Lover Leaves You. I only wish my remix skills had been good enough to try out for the competition!
To get you in the mood, I give you the Koishi & Hush Club Mix for your listening pleasure!
Halloween Season is upon us again! Spicy, I am officially entering this into your Cauldron contest :). This is my favorite time of year, as many of you know! It’s time for me to dig out my zombie attire, and head back to Brutal Planet! It’s become a tradition of mine that I almost didn’t do this year, but decided in the past few weeks that I would return again for my 10th and last season at Brutal Planet. (The name is supposedly being retired after this year).
This is a picture of me from a few seasons ago. I have a ton more of pictures from me and others at the haunted house on my gallery if you want to see more. (You will need to be using a modern browser like Firefox in order to view the gallery).
I will be working weekends through October at Elitch Gardens if anyone should want to stop by for a scare… I know it is expensive to get in, but there are plenty of places to get discount tickets! Bring in a Pepsi can or stop by most any fast food restaurant for discount coupons. Even purchase your tickets online here. Just whatever you do don’t pay full price! There is no reason to do such a thing. I believe King Soopers also sells discounted tickets. There are two haunted houses and plenty of street performers to entertain you. Brutal Planet is an additional $5 and is not recommended for children under 12 as it is quite gory.
I do hope that you can make it out and enjoy being scared to death! And if anyone is interested in trying to hit some of the other local haunted houses in the Denver Metro area, there are a lot of other great ones besides ours. Some of the ones that are not to be missed every year are Frightmare, Field of Corpses and Spider Mansion. These are always outstanding houses! If you need more information or reviews of the local houses, Haunted Denver is always a great resource.
THIS JUST IN!!! Mix 100 has teamed up with ARC Thrift Stores to host a special Boo in the Gardens at Elitch Gardens on the 27th and 28th. Details here how you can get a pass for $8 to get into the park that last weekend of the season!
Well, my current theme is not fairing well with the upgrade to 2.3, so my blog will be looking different as I search for another theme that suits my needs as well as this current one has. Unfortunately, the guy who designed it seems to have decided to not put anymore work into getting it finished and stable, so it has to go.
Please give me any feedback as things change if you see stuff you like or don’t like.
