Make all the jokes you want to about Nintendo’s new little white pad you stand on, like this video:
But, I can tell you that after using it for 30-40 minutes a day since Sunday evening, I have lost 4.7 lbs in those short 4 days! And I haven’t even changed my eating habits.
It may look boring, but it is like having a personal trainer in front of you that can show you the proper form for many of these exercises. The balancing games are fairly entertaining, and makes me kind of enjoy getting in a little workout. I have been going to the gym, and haven’t seen these kind of results, granted, it has been only once or twice a week… but if I can keep up with it, I should be able to get back to under 200 lbs someday! 🙂
Thursday, at around 12:30pm, I got a call from Dan. His sister in Windsor had called to tell him that their house was one of the unfortunate 596 homes in the small town of Windsor to be hit by the massive mile wide tornado that ravaged northern Colorado that morning.
It was such a surreal moment, I hear about these horrific acts of nature taking out towns like this, but it is never anyone you know. As of right now, we still don’t know the extent of the damage to their home, but that they are not currently allowed back there to get their belongings right now. We do know that there was substantial damage to their roof, and the windows have been blown out. Thankfully all of the family is ok, and living with the in-laws right now. Their house is one of the 102 homes deemed unsafe.
I would ask any of my readers that are able, to please donate to the red cross here to help the many residents of Windsor who have been left homeless, or have massive repairs coming their way to get their lives back on track. You can go here to see photos of the devastation, as well as the magnitude of the tornado itself!
This past weekend, I got the idea to finally work on removing one of the bushes in my front yard that is kind of an eyesore, especially since I got rid of the fence in the front yard!
So this weekend, I mowed the lawn, and trimmed the bush down to the stump… I started digging, only to find this thing to be way bigger, than I had thought it would be! Who knows how old the bush was, but I do know it has had many years to make itself a permanent fixture!
Needless to say, while the front yard looks better without the bush, there is still the horrible stump that is a new eyesore.
Anyone out there with suggestions for removing it would be very welcome! I am going to have to break down and go to Home Depot and see what their thoughts are!
Kevin James… Shut your piehole!
If you are in Denver, and want to go out for a good laugh for a good cause, then May 12th is the day for you!! The Monkey’s of Monkey’s Uncle are throwing a benefit show for my good friend, and their director Howard. As you may know, he was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma.
All admission from Monday’s show will be going directly to Howard to help him pay his cancer bills. If you can’t make it, but would still like to help out, he has a direct donation button, where you can make a donation to him. All the male cast members will be having their heads shaved live at the show to show their solidarity for Howard. It promises to be a totally crass and humorous look at cancer.
The show will be Monday, May 12th at 7:30pm. It is at Jazz @ Jacks, located on the third floor of the Denver Pavilions next to the United Artist Theater. Cover is $10 (all proceeds going to Howard’s Cancer Fund) and there is a two item minimum. Hope to see some of you there! But if you can’t make it, please do consider donating to his fund!
You will find the donate button in my sidebar to the right.
