Happy Halloween!

Wow this month has flown! It seems like I just started working the Haunted House yesterday, and it is over tomorrow night! It has been a lot of fun being in the house this year as opposed to being in charge of tickets! I have gotten some great scares out of everyone coming through!

Hopefully I will see a few more of you this weekend at Brutal Planet! To all of you I wish you a very Happy Halloween! Enjoy the evening, and I hope you make it to some great parties! I will be scaring the pants off of everyone again tonight!

I leave you with Amy Lee’s version of Sally’s Song from Nightmare Before Christmas found on Nightmare Revisited, a great collection of the soundtrack revisited by a wide range of artists!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween is once again upon us! Happy Halloween to my fellow bloggers out there! May all the gouls give you a good fright tonight!

While Brutal Planet may already be closed for the season… some of you may be looking to go somewhere fun tonight for a little scare! A few of the other local area houses that I can recommend to you tonight are:

Scream Park: A frightfully good romp through a genre of horror classic films! Nice and long with some great acting!

Field of Corpses: While not one of the oldest houses around town, certainly one of the best! If you have seen “House of a 1000s Corpses” you will enjoy this highly entertaining haunted attraction!

Frightmare: One of Denver’s oldest haunted attraction, this outdoor haunt takes you through some of the most realistic depictions of horror around!

I have been to the first two this year, and the third never disappoints, and still hope to make it there before they close this weekend! If you make it to any of them, let me know what you thought!

More Elitch Discounts!

Sorry for the short notice, I tried getting this up yesterday, but ran out of time. If anyone is interested in going to Elitch’s this weekend, CW2.com is offering a coupon that is good for 2 admissions for $19.98! That’s $9.99 a person… compared to the regular admission of $45.99, I’d say that is a bargain! Coupons are good if you get there before 6pm.

Also if you missed it in my update on the last post, Mix 100 and The ARC Thrift Stores are ganging up for Boo in the Gardens. Stop by a local ARC and pickup a coupon good for 1 admission for $8 on Oct. 27th & 28th if you get there before 3pm!

We open tomorrow night… hope that some of you around here can make it out!

Who cares about the Broncos or the Rockies… We’re talking about getting the wits scared out of you!

Crack Out the Cauldron and Zombies! UPDATE!

Halloween Season is upon us again! Spicy, I am officially entering this into your Cauldron contest :). This is my favorite time of year, as many of you know! It’s time for me to dig out my zombie attire, and head back to Brutal Planet! It’s become a tradition of mine that I almost didn’t do this year, but decided in the past few weeks that I would return again for my 10th and last season at Brutal Planet. (The name is supposedly being retired after this year).

This is a picture of me from a few seasons ago. I have a ton more of pictures from me and others at the haunted house on my gallery if you want to see more. (You will need to be using a modern browser like Firefox in order to view the gallery).

I will be working weekends through October at Elitch Gardens if anyone should want to stop by for a scare… I know it is expensive to get in, but there are plenty of places to get discount tickets! Bring in a Pepsi can or stop by most any fast food restaurant for discount coupons. Even purchase your tickets online here. Just whatever you do don’t pay full price! There is no reason to do such a thing. I believe King Soopers also sells discounted tickets. There are two haunted houses and plenty of street performers to entertain you. Brutal Planet is an additional $5 and is not recommended for children under 12 as it is quite gory.

I do hope that you can make it out and enjoy being scared to death! And if anyone is interested in trying to hit some of the other local haunted houses in the Denver Metro area, there are a lot of other great ones besides ours. Some of the ones that are not to be missed every year are Frightmare, Field of Corpses and Spider Mansion. These are always outstanding houses! If you need more information or reviews of the local houses, Haunted Denver is always a great resource.

THIS JUST IN!!! Mix 100 has teamed up with ARC Thrift Stores to host a special Boo in the Gardens at Elitch Gardens on the 27th and 28th. Details here how you can get a pass for $8 to get into the park that last weekend of the season!

I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas… Here It Is!!!

So, today has been quite the blizzard… Hasn’t quite matched the storm of 2003 yet, but I have a feeling it will. Last measurement was 17” here in Aurora. But at a rate of six inches every six hours, and no signs of it letting up, we should easily be at two feet by morning. Add the wind in the mix, and we have snow drifts in our backyard of three to four feet.

I have been putting in major overtime at one of centers that has been really short staffed this holiday season, and tonight was one of those nights I was supposed to work. I was really not looking forward to being out in this weather more than I needed to be. I had been waiting around at my facility for word as to wether they needed me or not.. News came at noon that all Denver area FedEx Kinko’s were closing at 2pm… So I was out that door faster than a speeding bullet! I stopped at Papa Murphey’s for some take home pizza for dinner… and was home by 2pm. It was a long drive home! But unlike the last storm, there was no getting stuck for me… Even with Aurora’s poor road maintenance.

Anyway, in honor of the upcoming holiday, I have created a holiday music mix for all to share. I have added some of the more memorable clips from Christmas Vacation throughout, so I do warn that parts are a tad vulgar! But do enjoy! I shall be posting the song list to the Waking Up With Morning Song blog. And to all, I wish a very Happy Holiday to you all… May it be filled with snow, but not too much as we are seeing! 😉

Tis the Season!

Well, I spent this past weekend putting up the Christmas Tree as well as decorating the outside fence with some lights! It’s been a long time since I was last able to decorate for the holidays!

Anyway, in honor of the holidays, I bring you one of the best rants from Christmas Vacation! A little bit how I am feeling after finding out that good olé Six Flags has decided to not send out our bonuses this year!

Also a great little ad for TBWA/Vancouver

Happy Halloween!!!

Well, it is finally upon us! Halloween is here! This will be my first year to get to hand out candy to the trick-or-treaters now that I have a house! The last time I dealt with trick-or-treating, I was the one getting the candy.

Sorry I haven’t been blogging much lately, with the Haunted House, I barely had the time to sleep! But this past Sunday was our last day, another fun year of scarring the piss (literally) out of people is over and done with. It’s sad it goes so fast! Yes, this year I got a 16 year old girl to pee her pants! She backed into me, turned around and saw me, fell to the ground, and proceeded to wet herself! We had some great people on staff this year. Our doorman was quite the character, and good at riling up the people before going into the house.

This past weekend, I had a little 4 year old come up to me, I don’t know that he was really scared, but he wanted to know if I was real… I got down on my knees to let him know that I was just an actor, and that all the make-up was fake. He asked why I would want to do such a thing, I told him it was to scare the grown-ups. He then wanted to know if I really had blood on my face, or what it was. I told him it was syrup, ya know, the stuff you pour on your pancakes, just red. He seemed a lot better after that, but still didn’t understand why, so I again told him it was to scare the adults, he had a jason mask on, so I told him to put it on, and he could go do the same thing! He left and I got the thumbs up from the parents, so I guess I did good. I normally try to avoid the young ones, but he came up to me. I hate the parents that force their kids in my face kicking and screaming, those are the ones that will be scarred for life!

We’ll see what next year brings for the haunt, with Elitch’s for sale, and our future uncertain, this may have been the end of it. We have had a number of companies look at the place this past month, hopefully some kind of announcement is coming in the next month. If one of the interested parties ends up buying us, they don’t do Halloween celebrations at their other parks, so it may all be over. But, on the plus side, they also don’t serve alcohol at their parks, so the issue of dealing with drunks would finally be over!

I wish you all a very scary Halloween, and hope the ghouls are good to you!
